Jean-Luc Renou is French and 56 years old. He graduated in 1986 a Master’s Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering and worked most of his career in developing audio visual solutions for satellite / terrestrial / cable and IP networks, mainly at Thomson then Technicolor companies. In 2012, he became the owner of Mulann activities developing quality control solutions for the smart card and ticketing industry. In 2015 he expanded Mulann activities with the acquisition of Pyral activities manufacturing magstripe for the card/ticketing industry and also analog audiotapes. Mulann audiotapes are targeted to the music industry, the movie industry (perforated tapes) and instrumentation (military and scientific applications). Today with its brand “Recording The Masters” (www.recordingthemasters.com), Mulann is leading the reel-to-reel tape revival and started in November 2018 the manufacturing of a new audiotape in the compact cassette format. With a long history of analog audiotape production inherited from AGFA BASF and PYRAL, Jean-Luc with his team is carrying the torch and contributing to the revival of analog sound on this physical media.
