Marvin Scott Jarrett is a celebrated creative force in the worlds of publishing, photography, fil and television. He started his career in media in the ‘90s with the launch of RAY GUN, a critically acclaimed, award-winning music and design magazine. He went on to create magazines for Time Warner and MTV Europe, and founded NYLON in 1999, which he built into a global media brand for the millennial generation distributed in over 30 countries. Jarrett’s magazines have won over 150 design awards and have been featured in Victoria & Albert Museum, and London Design Museum.
Jarrett was a pioneer in online video, launching NYLON TV in 2005 in addition to collaborations with MySpace, YouTube, iTunes, Instagram, Nike and Urban Outfitters. Jarrett’s photography has also earned judos, having shot some top global talent, including musicians and actors Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey, Ewan McGregor and Jared Leto. Most recently, Jarrett authored the book, RAYGUN: the Bible of Music & Style published by Rizzoli Publishing. He also founded UROK, a non profit organization using music + art for metal health awareness.
